1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Mango Mango Event Tickets collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, buy or reserve tickets, or list an event with us. It must be read together with any other terms and policies published on this website.

Everyone who uses our website, including ticket buyers, event organisers and our service providers, is bound by this Privacy Policy and by applicable data protection law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page, and you should check it regularly.

Words such as “include”, “including” and “in particular” are used as examples only and do not limit the meaning of the words before them.

2. Who we are

Mango Mango Event Tickets (“Mango Mango”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an online ticketing platform through which event organisers (“Organisers”) list events and sell or reserve tickets. Mango Mango is a division of Meerkat Mango Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/490857/07), a private company registered in South Africa and based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

This policy applies to information we receive from:

• Organisers;
• people who buy, reserve or register for tickets (“Buyers”); and
• anyone else who visits or uses our website (together “you” or “your”).

3. Our role: we pass your details to the Organiser

Mango Mango provides the ticketing tool only. When you buy or reserve a ticket, your booking details are collected on behalf of the Organiser of that event and handed over to that Organiser so that they can run their event.

• We do not use Buyer information for our own purposes. We do not market to you, profile you, or sell or rent your information to anyone.
• For Buyer information, the Organiser is the responsible party (in POPIA terms). Mango Mango acts only as an operator that processes the information on the Organiser’s behalf, to deliver the ticketing service.
• Once your information has been given to the Organiser, how the Organiser uses, stores, shares or protects it is the Organiser’s sole responsibility and is at the Organiser’s own risk. The Organiser’s use is governed by the Organiser’s own privacy policy. Please read it, or contact the Organiser, before you book.

By buying or reserving a ticket, you expressly consent to your booking details being shared with the Organiser of that event for the purposes described in this policy.

4. Information we collect

From Buyers: your name, email address, cellphone number, the event, tickets and seats you chose, the amount payable, the payment status, and any note you add to your order.

From Organisers: contact details, business details, event details and images, ticket prices and seating plans, sales records, and the banking details needed to pay out ticket sales.

Technical information: when you use our website, our hosting and security systems automatically record limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site working and secure. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

Cookies: we only use cookies that the website needs to work and to stay secure, for example to keep Organisers logged in to the Organiser hub. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Payment details: card and bank payments are handled by a secure third-party payment provider. Mango Mango never sees or stores your full card details. Before paying, always check that you are on a genuine, secure payment page. Never respond to suspicious emails, links or attachments that claim to come from us.

Giving us your information is voluntary. Without the details we ask for, though, we cannot process your booking or your event. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not submit any personal information.

5. How we use information

We only process personal information where we have a lawful reason to do so, namely to:

• process ticket bookings and payments, and send booking confirmations, tickets and important event updates;
• hand Buyer details to the relevant Organiser so they can manage entry, seating and event communication;
• let Organisers create and manage their events, and receive payouts;
• answer questions and support requests;
• prevent fraud and misuse, and protect our website, users and systems; and
• meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations, or comply with a court order.

We do not use Buyer information to send our own marketing. If an Organiser contacts you about other events, that is done by the Organiser under their own privacy policy, and not by Mango Mango.

6. Who we share information with

• Organisers: Buyer details for the events they run (see section 3).
• Service providers: website hosting, email delivery, security and payment processing, only as far as needed to provide our service. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
• Authorities: where the law requires it, or to investigate fraud.
• Successors: if our business is sold or restructured.

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we only use providers that are subject to laws or agreements giving a level of protection similar to POPIA.

7. How we protect and keep information

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access or changes. These steps include secure hosting, encrypted connections and restricted, login-only access to the Organiser hub. No system on the internet is 100% secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep booking and event records only for as long as needed to run the event, deal with queries, and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. After that, we delete them or make them anonymous. If you know or suspect that your information has been misused on our website, contact us immediately.

Our website may link to other websites, including Organiser websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

8. Organiser responsibilities

By using Mango Mango, Organisers agree that they:

• are the responsible party for the Buyer information they receive, and are solely and independently responsible for complying with POPIA and any other applicable data protection law;
• will only use Buyer information lawfully, securely, and for purposes Buyers were told about;
• will publish and follow their own privacy policy, and deal with Buyers’ requests about their information;
• are responsible for the accuracy of the event information they publish, which will be shown publicly; and
• indemnify Mango Mango and Meerkat Mango Group (Pty) Ltd against any claim arising from the Organiser’s use or misuse of Buyer information.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mango Mango, Meerkat Mango Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2025/490857/07), and any of its divisions, subsidiaries and related companies, and their directors and staff, will not be held liable for any loss, damage or claim arising from how an Organiser, or any other third party, uses, stores, shares or protects personal information after it has been handed over to them. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request a copy of it;
• ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or incomplete;
• ask us to delete information we no longer need or are not allowed to keep;
• object to the processing of your information, including for direct marketing; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

To exercise these rights, email studio@meerkatmango.co.za. For information already handed over to an Organiser, please contact that Organiser directly. If you ask, we will help you reach them. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep certain records where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

11. Children

Tickets may only be bought or reserved by people aged 18 or older. A parent or legal guardian may book tickets for a child and give the child’s details where an event requires them, and by doing so confirms that they have the authority to do so. If you believe that a child has given us personal information without consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
